Apprentices needed for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semester.

This apprenticeship will focus on various book manuscript and art-centered projects at different stages of development. The principal project involves assistance with an anthology of writings on the artwork of California multi-media, weaving-based artist, Consuelo Jimenez Underwood. A second project focuses on environmental arts and non-violence, particularly centering people of color, and a third on a video documentary project on Chicana feminist artists.

Through assisting in various tasks, undergraduate research apprentices will assist in the research, publication processes, and fund-raising and beginning production of arts-centered humanities research. The anthology project will involve administrative support managing feedback to individual authors and maintaining contact with these; securing of permissions to publish; and other related tasks to prepare the assembled book ms. for publication. The second project on environmental art, will involve research into contemporary, local and global environmental art. The third project will involve assistance on a beginning video documentary project on Chicana feminist artists.



Day-to-day supervisor for this project: I will supervise until further notice, then possibly a, Graduate Student

Qualifications: I am looking for 2-3 highly organized, detail-oriented, research-competent, and responsible students who are art or literature majors or enthusiasts. Grants research is a plus. Time commitment is three hours per week.

Weekly Hours: 3-6 hrs
