Open (1) Attention and Accolades: Patterns and Determinants

Open. Apprentices needed for the fall semester. Please do NOT contact faculty before September 11th (the start of the 4th week of classes)! Enter your application on the web beginning August 16th. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, August 29th at 8 AM.

The aim is to construct tools for scraping two types of web-sites to obtain two different types of data. The ultimate aim is to study the patterns in the bestowal of attention and accolades.

Their role is to help in determining and implementing the best strategy for scraping information.

Qualifications: Knowledge of python necessary. Other programming software knowledge a plus. Must be available for bi-weekly meetings Thursdays 1-2pm.

Weekly Hours: 3-6 hrs

Off-Campus Research Site: Researchers will be able to conduct their work either on campus or elsewhere (a cafe, their apartment or dorm, the library, while flying, and more).
