Research for a book about the Canadian poet, novelist, and songwriter Leonard Cohen. The book will study the structure of Cohen's songs, and the main themes of his work.
Role: Development of a critical bibliography. Tracking down of some of Cohen's work that is not readily available in published volumes. Close analysis of songs and poems.
Qualifications: An interest in the relationship between poetry and song. Good close reading skills and ability to synthesize large quantities of material.
Hours: 3-5 hrs
