The Hearst Museum of Anthropology, located in Anthropology & Art Practice Building, has educational offerings that combine the exciting work of Berkeley researchers with perspectives from community members, looking at how they relate to the cultures and objects represented in the collection. We encourage visitors to think deeply about questions of culture and identity. To maximize our educational impact, we need an understanding of how potential visitors think about these questions and how they engage with exhibits.
As docents, our team of URAP participants will act as stewards to visitors from the community and create personalized experiences for individuals and groups of all ages. As researchers, URAP participants will collaborate in the evaluation of visitor experiences and explore techniques for creating memorable museum encounters.
