PROJECT 2. The environmental health project is focused on the program evaluation of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health/National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health-Education and Research Center (COEH/NIOH-ERC) across the campuses of UC Berkeley, UCSF, and UC Davis.
The purpose of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health/National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health-Education and Research Center (COEH/NIOH-ERC) is to recruit and train the next generation of occupational and environmental health workers and researchers through the interdisciplinary training of different skills that can translate into different workplaces. Our trainees promote healthy workplaces and environments that protect workers and communities from occupational and environmental health hazards through teaching, research, and service. The evaluation work entails the design, data collection, analysis, and reporting from the annual COEH/NIOSH-ERC trainee surveys and alumni surveys for UC Berkeley, UCSF, and UC Davis. It evaluates the trainee and alumni experiences with the academic programs. The primary indicated examined include trainees/alumni background, recruitment and support, academic support, program preparation, program effectiveness, professional training support and needs, program impact, and program involvement after graduation.
Role: 1. Provide support in planning, analysis, and reporting activities of the occupational and environemtnal health sciences progam evaluation.
2. Assist in the Qualtrics surveys and reports and documentation of progress, including but not limited to analyzing data, describing findings, developing charts/tables, and write up of materials to report on the program trainee knowledge, experiences and support.
3. Assist in coordinating in-person project meetings or conference calls, developing meeting minutes, and presentations.
4. Other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications: 1. Student majoring in psychology, public health, social work, ethnic studies, public policy, or another related field. At least 3rd or 4th year student desired.
2. Interested in occupational and environmental health research/evaluation.
3. Demonstrated research skills required. Experience with quantitative data analysis desired (Qualtrics, R). Experience in qualitative data analysis a plus.
4. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong initiative required.
5. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency with Mac and PC based computers, Office application suite from Google, and MS Office software required.
