This project will evaluate the relationship between the responsiveness of politicians to individual requests for assistance and their future political performance. Specifically, we will merge previously collected experimental data on the response, or lack thereof, of politicians in India to requests for help accessing government services, with subsequent data on these politicians & electoral performance to estimate this possible correlation. This analysis should offer valuable insights into the relevance of politician performance for future electoral success.
Role: - Collect data on electoral performance for existing politician database (these data are easily available, but will need to be downloaded, reviewed, and merged with existing dataset)
- Assist with data analysis
Qualifications: - Experience and comfort with data manipulation and analysis in Excel and R
- Interest in Indian politics
