The Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies serves as the focal point at the University of California at Berkeley for students and faculty who conduct research and teaching on the geographic region of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
ISEEES is working to organize and digitize its archives, dating back to 1957, as well as to research aspects of institutional history and potential future initiatives.
Role: The apprentice will work with ISEEES Faculty Director and Assistant Director to go through, organize, and categorize ISEEES archives, and to digitize parts of the archive. Based on interest and qualifications, additional tasks may include researching region-specific initiatives, such as collections and lecture series.
Qualifications: No specific qualifications required, but the student should be interested in learning more about institutional histories, work with institutional archives, and the region of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
