Carbon offsets are being widely used to meet carbon neutrality goals. Many offset credits sold on the offset market represent significantly less climate benefit than they claim. We are conducting a series of studies of major offset project types to better understand their impact and quality.
Role: You will be responsible for developing a database of carbon offset projects for one project type -- refrigerants, landfill gas capture, or cookstoves. This involves going through project documents and extracting out key information about each project. We look forward to involving you, and hearing your insights, in the other elements of the research and as we develop our findings and conclusions.
Qualifications: Most important is attention to detail, and fearlessness in searching sometimes long documents for specific information (we will help you figure out where to look and how to search).
Additional qualifications for the landfill gas capture study: Part of this research is an econometrics study and part involves qualitative methods. Please indicate if you have a background in economics or waste management.
