The Art of Writing Humanities Writer covers writing- and humanities-related events within the Art of Writing community, on and off-campus.
The Art of Writing URAP apprentice researches, writes, and creates other content about events and issues in the humanities at UC Berkeley and in the greater arts and humanities world. Articles and other content (such as multi-media) will appear on our public website, campus-wide publications, and possibly other public-facing media. The apprentice also researches other university writing programs for best practices.
Role: This mentored position enables the Art of Writing apprentice to learn about the academic study of the humanities and the opportunities in humanities both on and off-campus. They practice the art of writing and rewriting, and will work to edit their pieces with their mentor. The apprentice will end the year with a portfolio of strong, published writing clips.
Qualifications: Required: A strong interest in writing and the humanities. Applicants are encouraged to include writing samples, especially public-facing writing samples.
