How are communities in the Bay Area addressing climate change and promoting social justice? How can community knowledge be visualized to inform climate justice? This project is evaluating one such effort sponsored by the California, Strategic Growth Council in Richmond, California. The URAP apprentice with work with the Center for Global Healthy Cities and Prof. Jason Corburn to support the Richmond Rising, Transformative Climate Communities initiative.
Role: The URAP apprentice will attend community meetings and take notes how local organizations and city government work collaboratively to implement climate change adaptation strategies. The URAP apprentice will generate meeting transcripts and provide summaries for community-partners. The apprentice will also use Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, particularly InDesign, to help generate data visualizations and reports for public release.
Qualifications: Knowledge of/familiarity with Adobe Suite, especially InDesign. Beneficial if used canva, figma or similar design tools, especially to visualize data.
