Digital Platforms of the Transversal City/San Francisco Bay Area
The Berkeley Center for Globalization and Information Technology has been recently engaged in the decoding and unbundling of transversal aspects of the American city. The project attempts to re-problematize the operational deployment, structure, infrastructure, and agency of the transversal city by drawing data for analysis from a variety of digital platforms in the Bay Area. The focus of the research for the Spring 2024 semester is to focus on Uber and Airbnb digital platforms in an effort to uncover a new city form and open up a new area of inquiry.
