Grandparent Involvement in Childrearing (Fluent Cantonese Required)

The research study examines the influence of grandparent involvement in childrearing with Chinese-American preschool-aged children. We collect child behavioral task data, questionnaire data, and parent-child interaction data.
Role: The primary responsibilities include: 1) Recruit research participants from local preschool programs, maintain contact with preschool staff in coordinating recruitment events; 2) Carry out psychological and behavioral assessments of preschool-age children, their parent, and grandparents; 3) Documentation and record keeping; 4) Enter data and maintain study databases using SPSS, Excel, REDCap, and Qualtrics; 5) Participate in regular supervision meetings and training workshops with the PIs, graduate students, and project coordinators; and 6) Train other research assistants.

Qualifications: Fluency in Cantonese (proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing) required. Ideally has prior experience working with young children and/or their parents in research, childcare, tutoring, or other settings. Reliable and responsible. Good interpersonal skills. Must be available to work on some weekend days.

Hours: 3-5 hrs
Off-Campus Research Site: This study is entirely remote, although some optional in-person events, trainings, meetings will occur.
