Judicial Opinions from U.S. Court of Appeals on Issues Affecting Access to the Civil Justice System

This project will involve reading judicial opinions from U.S. Court of Appeals focusing on issues affecting access to the civil justice system, such as class certification, damages, standing, and attorney’s fees.
Role: Students will be reading opinions and apply a coding protocol that will include specifying the nature of the legal issues presented, characteristics of the parties, and case outcomes. The professor will directly supervise students. Students will work a minimum of six hours per week.
