Seeking a research assistant for a professor writing a book on the use of pesticides in the U.S. and the public's understanding of scientific risks and communication in modern U.S. history.
Role: Student will use Lexis-Nexis, ProQuest Newspapers, Pub Med, the Internet Archive, the Vanderbilt Television News Archive, and other databases to collect primary source material and fact-check information. Student will also use Excel, Zotero, and Google Drive to organize sources and data as needed.
Qualifications: Required: Interest in topic, attention to detail, well organized, proficient in deep research, including database searching, able to work well and efficiently independently. Must be able to meet weekly and write up concise weekly progress reports.
Preferred: Experience or familiarity with Zotero and the Chicago Manual of Style.
Hours: 6-8 hrs
