Closed. This professor is continuing with Spring 2024 apprentices on this project; no new apprentices needed for Fall 2024.
Youth should be meaningfully included and engaged in conversations about policies that directly affect them. Youth-Led Participatory Action Research (YPAR) is a social justice-focused approach for promoting social change and positive youth development in which youth conduct systematic research and actions to improve their schools and communities (Ozer et al., 2020). Undergrad research apprentices will support studies that investigate the conditions that strengthen and improve the use of YPAR evidence in school, district, and statewide decision-making processes. Apprentices will also help synthesize insights from adult and youth interest holders about a YPAR online platform that would help connect YPAR findings with policymakers.
