Check back for status
Please write Project 2: Social Psychology and Business Lab at the top of your application if you are interested in applying to our lab.
We are seeking to recruit 2-3 new Research Apprentices who are interested in finding out more about social psychology and business research to join our research lab.
Every semester we recruit two or three new people to join our team of researchers who have been doing research together for a few years.
We work on a variety of different research projects with a number of faculty and PhD students at Haas (and at other universities). Current projects include leadership in unusual contexts, the evolution of status in groups, loyalty and (un)ethical behavior.
We're looking for motivated, hard working researchers who will bring a variety of different experiences and insights to our lab. We value diversity: current researchers are majoring in business, computer science, dance, economics, molecular biology, political science, psychology and statistics. Past alumni from our lab have gone on to graduate schools (e.g., PhD Harvard, MD Stanford, MS Columbia, JD Yale, MBA MIT) or to work in finance (Investment banking, Consulting, Accounting), or non-profit (government, the red cross).
Role: New researchers will be given training on research methods, statistics and technical programs such as excel, spss etc. They will be expected to get involved in different aspects of the research process (from helping design experiments) to running experiments in the laboratory, collating data and running analyses.
It is expected that researchers who stay in the lab will continue to grow and gain greater responsibilities over time.
Qualifications: Strong work ethic. An interest in research. Conscientious. A sense of fun.
Computer programming / web design skills a plus but not required.
Membership of fraternities /sororities a plus but not required.
