We are seeking to recruit a couple of Research Apprentices who are interested in finding out more about social psychology and business research to join our research lab. Our goal is to find students who would be interested in beginning this semester and possibly continuing on in the future. We are committed to helping students gain research experience and develop skills that will help them in their future academic and career goals.
Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn have grown in increasing popularity in recent years. People spend considerable time interacting with others on these sites each day, using them for purposes ranging from social to professional. We are interested in exploring these interactions as well as various online communities to see how they are similar to and different from the face-to-face interactions social psychology has traditionally studied.
Role: Research apprentices will take part in a range of activities- from helping design surveys and experiments to collecting and analyzing data. We will begin the semester with training (depending on the Apprentice's level of experience) and then give them opportunities to put what they've learned to use. It is our hope that the research apprentices will have exposure to a number of facets of the research process.
Qualifications: We are looking to recruit students who have a strong interest in research- those who think they may be interested in pursuing Graduate Studies or a related research career. Those with an interest in social psychology or organizational behavior research are especially encouraged to apply. Students will need to be able to manage tasks effectively and have a strong work ethic.
