CALM Program researchers in UC Berkeley's psychology department are seeking a highly-motivated advanced undergraduate (or graduate) student for a volunteer Research Assistant (RA) position. Our team conducts multi-method research examining behavioral and biological mechanisms linking emotion-related impulsivity to mental health problems. We aim to recruit an RA to join an ongoing project led by Professor Sheri Johnson in which we plan to evaluate a novel intervention for psychiatric disorders.
Role: The RA will facilitate tailoring of computer-based tasks for assessing executive control. They will be engaged in developing scoring algorithms, data management, and analyses of data.
Qualifications: Strong programming and data science skills
Proficient in Python
Understanding of statistics (r, SPSS, scoring data)
Familiar with data structures and manipulation (ie using Pandas, numPy, matplotlib, SQL)
Preferred: Exposure to psychopy.

Hours: 9-11 hrs
