CALM Program researchers in UC Berkeley's psychology department are seeking a highly-motivated advanced undergraduate (or graduate) student for a volunteer Research Assistant (RA) position to begin in the Spring 2022 semester. Our team conducts multi-method research examining behavioral and biological mechanisms linking emotion-related impulsivity to mental health problems. We aim to recruit an RA to join an upcoming project led by Co-PIs Professor Sheri Johnson, Ph.D. and Visiting Scholar J.D. ***IMPORTANT: In addition to submitting the application through URAP, please also send a cover letter and CV/academic resume to Dr. J.D. Allen: jd.allen@berkeley.edu
Role: The RA will specifically perform software coding/programming activities involving the development and modification of adaptive computerized behavioral tasks. We request a time commitment of at least nine hours per week.
Qualifications: Successful applicants will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities; exceptional candidates will also have prior experience conducting psychological or physiological research. We especially encourage applications from students majoring in computer programming, psychology, or neuroscience, in addition to applicants from under-represented groups.
