This project aims to create a systematic accounting of sociological studies of education, and create a framework to understand how different studies are connected with each other. The team will create an archive of publications, scholars, and awards connected to sociology of education during a 23-year period with the aim of highlighting what the most important questions the discipline has answered and what remains unquestioned or marginal in the field.
Role: Undergraduate students will systematically compile journals, books, and scholars' bios to help create a map of different studies. Students will input each paper in a shared Google Sheet and categorize them. The students will be trained to think through how these studies fit together and how they can be categorized. Students will also write integrative essays about these entries.
Qualifications: Students should be interested in social science research, invested in education improvement, able to work in a group, and be open to pouring hours on dense documents.
Hours: to be negotiated
